FairfaxVA- A country music superstar with a dynamic style all her own, Tanya Tucker will be a guest judge on the February 15th episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race (airing at 9/8c on Logo and the following Tuesday at 9/8c on Vh1).  Tucker will sit alongside RuPaul, fashion journalist Merle Ginsberg, designer Santino Rice and actress Kathy Najimy for a special show that finds the contestants discovering their “country” characters. 
Hosted by drag icon RuPaul, the competition series is in its second season where drag queens run through fashion and talent challenges in front of a panel of judges in the hopes of becoming “America’s Next Drag Superstar.”  Captivating, fun and full of surprises, RuPaul’s Drag Race has become a bona fide pop culture hit and a ratings smash.  RuPaul’s Drag Race airs Mondays at 9/8C on Logo and is rebroadcast on VH1 the following Tuesday at 9/8C.
Tucker’s recent album, My Turn, was released to critical acclaim and bolstered with a slew of appearances on television such as the Larry King Live show, GAC, CMT and on NPR’s Weekend Edition.  My Turn found Tucker taking on classic country songs originally recorded by the greatest male country legends of all time and turning the tables, giving classics such as “You Don’t Know Me” and “Oh, Lonesome Me” a powerful reconstruction from a woman’s point of view.  The Boston Globe declared that “Lovers of retro country will rejoice over this” and the Philadelphia Inquirer agreed, saying “It’s hard to imagine a more well-executed tribute.”
Only 13 when her provocative “Delta Dawn” caused a nationwide stir and became a Top 10 country hit, Tucker has built one of the most successful and compelling careers in music.  Considered one of the very few females of the “outlaw” country movement, she holds a Grammy award, two Country Music Association awards, two Academy of Country Music awards, and three CMT Awards.  23 of her albums have landed in the country Top 40 chart since her 1972 debut, and she has amassed 10 #1 country singles, 33 that have reached the Top 5, and 41 in the Top 10.
