Art Show Featuring Many Local Artists Date Set 

Tahlequah, Oklahoma, June 2010 – Having dozens successful art events in the last four years, Myers Studio Fine Art gallery is in the midst of planning the most recent art show to feature the talents of local artists. The show entitled "Summer Arts Invitational" is scheduled to open Friday, June 11th is an invitational that will showcase the works of such locally and nationally known artists. The show will take place during the newest festival for Tahlequah, The Art of Living Festival. During that Friday night, June 11th in additional to this show opening 3 others art shows will be opening as well. Together the galleries are hosting a "Gallery Hop" in downtown.

The art show idea is a revival of a show created by local talents in 2006. The original concept of the founding artists was to create shows and activities to "revive the arts in Tahleuquah". Being on board with that idea and noticing the lack of visual art venues in town studio owner Kelie Myers wants to offer the community a new opportunity to see and enjoy the work of local artists. "We have a thriving community of artists of all kinds in Tahlequah including visual artists. I hope through hosting art shows at my new larger location more of the residents here will get the chance to take in, enjoy and possibly purchase works from our local treasures."

At the opening reception art patrons can expect a diverse collection of art work, plenty of food & drinks as well as a live acoustic performance by local musicians TBA. There is no admission.

The gallery is located in downtown Tahlequah at 215 N. Muskogee St., almost directly across from Downtown Family Dentistry. Shows runs June 11th – 20th additional Gallery Hours during the Show Dates are as follows: Monday – Friday 10am – 4pm, Saturday 10am – 3pm.
