Seeking band for approximately free

On Thursday, April 12, Oklahoma Space Alliance chapter of the National Space
Society is hosting a Yuri's Night party: either in Oklahoma City or in
Moore. This is a world-wide event in scattered venues around the globe,
designed for "young people" (Jr. High to about 35 in our case), celebrating
the 1961 launch of the first human into space (Yuri Gagarin) and the 1981
launch of the first space shuttle. (See http://www.yurisnight.net/2006/ for
what happened last year, and http://www.yurisnight.net/2007/ for this years
planning.)

We'd like to have music at ours, preferably something resembling dance music
that would appeal to a young audience. We're prepared to do this with a boom
box, but if any group out there would like to be involved for free or maybe
a small honorarium, please let me know as soon as possible and we can talk
about what would fit.

The focus is on adventure and fun. There will be refreshments, space art, a
botball demo or mini tournament, 2-stage rocket balloons, and other stuff.

If the party is in Moore, setup is 5:30 to 6:30 pm, the party lasts until
8:00 or 8:30, and cleanup must be completed by 9 pm.
If the party is in Oklahoma City I'm not sure about the times yet, but they
would probably be similar.

I can't get to my computer more than a couple of times a week until late
March, so please reply by phone: 405-863-6173.

Thanks,

Claire McMurray
