I hate to do this. I really do. But I was right. That's right. Me. I was right.
Ah. It feels good, really. I should savor this moment because this contest is about as predictable as Paula Abdul's mood swings.
Anyway, for a second there, when the bottom three vote-nabbers -- Rogers, our boy Phil Stacey, who has family ties to Shawnee, and Sanjaya Malakar -- stood together waiting for a firing squad known as America to open fire, it seemed as if Malakar could have been blown away by all those text messages and phone calls.
But, alas, he stays. Oh well, it'll be nice to kick him around like Tricky Dick for a while more.
Rogers, not that anyone will care, is the bloke who forgot his words Tuesday night and even tried to dance a little. His performance left me wanting to put him in one of those big circus cannons, light the fuse and hope he landed on Malakar.
As for Stacey, I'll root for him just as a fellow victim of male-pattern baldness. And I must admit he has a nice voice. By the way, Phil, leave the silly hats at home from now on.
Rogers, best of luck to you as you host your first open-mike night and record an album no one will care to listen to.
That aside, I've made another prediction about Idol. A rather brash one about a nice girl who went to Union High School, likes tennis shoes over high heels and admits to actually liking "The Mighty Ducks" and Hilary Duff.
Melinda Doolittle also sang better Tuesday night than Diana Ross did Wednesday night, and she has better hair. Malakar, however, might have better hair than both the legend and the next American Idol.
So now there are 11 Idol hopefuls.
Doolittle and Jordin Sparks are the two prime contenders, followed by LaKisha Jones and Stephanie Edwards.
For the boys, Chris Richardson and Blake Lewis (I hate that guy) are the best of the loser fellas.
Everyone else is vulnerable.
