JFJO News JFJO.com | Calendar | Merchandise | Forward to a Friend Hello Friends! Our September begins with a week long run in New Orleans,LA. We're happy to announce that three of our performances in NOLA will feature special guest Johnny Vidacovich. We also look forward to sharing the stage with Simon Lott and the Dark Smile as well as the Monika H Band opening at the Hi Ho Lounge. September then continues in the east. After heading to Philly for a headlining show at the World Cafe Live (upstairs), we're excited to find ourselves returning to all our friends in NYC, DC, and Baltimore for a string of co-headlining dates with Travis Sullivan's Bjorkestra. We pick back up a few days later for a very special run of four shows in the North East with 'The Life Effect'. Who is this "the Life Effect' you ask? 'The Life Effect' is Brad and Andrew Barr of The Slip, Reed Mathis of JFJO, and Jim Hobbes of Fully Celebrated Orchestra. Special thanks goes to Peripheral Media Projects for designing our new posters and the banner for jfjo.com. PMP also designed a newl JFJO T-Shirt for every shape and size, that will be available at our upcoming shows. One consequence of touring and performing is that we inevitably burn petroleum throughout our travels on planes or in our van. That's why we have partnered with Bay Area non-profit LiveNeutral to take real action on climate change. For every ton of greenhouse gas emissions that our touring adds to the atmosphere, LiveNeutral will take one ton back through their DriveNeutral and FlyNeutral carbon offset programs. In effect, JFJO will be touring "carbon neutral." You can take back your emissions too. Check out DriveNeutral.org and FlyNeutral.org online to join this community of active folks doing their part to stop the climate crisis. Also, look for Reed Mathis at Joe's Pub in NYC,NY on Oct.19th. Reed will play with Andrew Barr and Marco Benevento at a special release party for Marco's new album 'Live at Tonic' - which Reed also appears on, and is now available on Rope-a-Dope Records. Thanks for your support. Hope to see you at the shows. "...they've transported this music back from some distant eon where boundaries between genres have been abolished and music, pure music, pours out like water from a rock in the desert before thirsty Israelites. It's like forbidden technology from the future smuggled back through a tear in the time-space continuum. They are onto something most haven't caught up with..yet." - Dennis Cook, Crazewire |
