Oklahoma artists do it their own way...

I know, I know....

Red Dirt Music is supposed to be only one type or style of music coming from one place, but I have contented for years it's Oklahoma Music... Music that is defined by the great artists who learn and improve on their skills and talents and mix into it the unique Oklahoma Spirit! So... to some, Red Dirt Music is just that! Music of all Genre that comes from..... OKLAHOMA!!! Yes, rock and roll, gospel, country, metal.... all of the genre ... and the very unique artists that create and perform it.

Now with that in mind... this note is a true example of red dirt artists! Always willing to give, rather than receive... and sometimes taken advantage of, but never, never, never, never, never, never, never... giving up!

Here is the note...
and again... This is what makes Oklahoma a unique proving grounds for very solid, very unique, and wonderful music!

I wanted to share this story with you because I know you have seen acts like this from other red dirt musicians -
............. International Festival in Lawton.

We have headliners and we have volunteer performers.

A blues group from Konowa, OK drove over 2 hours and played for free yesterday - the Blood Washed Blues Band.

They blew us away!!!

Not only because of their actions of driving and playing 1 hour for free but that they are incredible!
They play southern blues gospel and in their own words, "We available for bookings, event Bah Mizpahs". Then the lead singer said, "We're going to play for you our version of the 23 psalm, don't let it scare you".....very nice.
Only in Oklahoma:)

Do I hear an AMEN?
