Stillwater, OK- The Tumbleweed Ballroom, established in 1981, will reopen under new ownership and management. The Stillwater staple looks to bring a new style and attitude to the historic venue.
The Tumbleweed's new owners are veterans of the entertainment and nightlife business, having spent decades bringing live music and entertainment to Oklahoma. Both look to change the landscape of Stillwater's music scene and the Tumbleweed. The owners feel that Stillwater has been a staple of live music in the past and want to bring back the tradition of great live music in Stillwater.
"Oklahoma and Stillwater have always been rich with musical talent, obviously with Red Dirt music, but with many other genres as well. Our goal is to bring a diversity in music to Stillwater and the surrounding areas, for the college kids and communities alike," says Philip Randolph, part owner.
Calf Fry is set for April 28-30 and will feature some of the biggest names in Red Dirt country music. The headliners for the 20th Anniversary of Calf Fry include Casey Donahew, Johnny Cooper, the Eli Young Band, Randy Rogers, Mike McClure, No Justice and Charlie Robison, as well as several up and coming acts opening the festival.
