Upside

I. UP NORTH THIS WEEKEND

The Texans, Cajuns, Hogs and Okies have already experienced the "Jim Beam and the American Dream" release show insanity. Now, the Kansans and Mizzou folk get the rock road show in their towns with a string of northern gigs this weekend. Get your drinking shoes on, break out the ear plugs and see the Texas Party Metal live and in person:

Wednesday, May 2: Columbia, Mo. – Mojo's, w/ F*Bombs.
Thursday, May 3: Manhattan, Kan. – PJ's.
Friday, May 4: Mulberry/Pittsburg, Kan. – Foxtown.

And in case any of you Tulsans were crazy enough to miss our CD release show at Cain's last month, here's a follow-up performance to satisfy your rock and roll appetite:

Saturday, May 12: Tulsa, Okla. – Boston's, w/ Malan Darras, David Cook.

Malan, of Rewake fame, is releasing his fantasically freakynasty new disc, "Who is Malan D?" at this show, so it'll be packed to the walls. Get there early, and bring your Upside merch money! After that, some killer DFW weekend shows before we hit the road full time in June:

Saturday, May 19: Denton, Texas – Fry Street Concert Series, w/ Riverboat Gamblers, The Feds and more.
Friday, May 25: San Antonio, Texas – Jack's Patio Bar, w/ Nothing More
Saturday, May 26: Dallas, Texas – The Cavern, w/ Darby, Villians.

II. JUNE TOUR WITH RIVER CITY HIGH

Sometime real soon, we'll announce the official dates of the June tour of Texas, the Midwest, Rockies, Northwest, West Coast and desert with our fellow whiskey-rockers in River City High. We'll be hitting all our favorite towns around here and a lot of new ones out west that we've never played before. Prepare yourselves accordingly!

III. 'JIM BEAM AND THE AMERICAN DREAM:' HOW TO GET IT

As many of you have noticed, the record is a bit tough to find in stores in some cities right now. We sincerely apologize that these type things of things don't always go as planned. We're working hard every day to get it in all the stores its supposed to be in.

YOU can help with that, too. If you don't find it in your local record store, don't just leave. Find the manager and tell him or her they need to order 'Jim Beam and the American Dream' if they know what's good for 'em. That will be a HUGE help! Anyone can order it, so they have no excuses.

For now, ordering online is a sure fire way to get the record. It is completely secure and safe. If it wasn't, we wouldn't allow it. Trust us. And any day now, it should be available for digital download via iTunes and all the other cool online MP3 stores.

At shows it's always available. We'll even sign it. In blood. Twice, if you wish.

IV. THE PRESS LIKEY UPSIDE

Can ya believe it? The press corps is showing some love for our new record. Here's a few snippets:

"We’re all fairly certain that the vocalist prepares for each show by downing a fifth of whiskey. Love those guitar solos." – Smother.net

"Guitarist Ben Mosier’s got all manner of Big Wreck ‘n’ Wolfmother chord change up his stadium-starry coat-sleeves. Basically, before this, Priestess were the edge of smarmy – now Upside define that edge...a toe-tapped trip with substance." – Bravewords

"Upside, from Denton, is doing its part to keep our dearest rock-n-roll from flatlining." – DFW Scene

Our team of hotshot publicists – consisting of our scruffy manager the newspaper reporter and label owner-slash-riot inducer Matty R – tells us there's more media magnificence on the way.

V. STREET TEAM LIVES

We can't say enough good things about our amazing street team's help since the album came out. Same goes for Fancorps, the cutting-edge online software we use to run the street team. The powers that be at Fancorps interviewed our manager this week about how the service has helped Upside. You should take a spell and go read it here.

We think you'll wanna sign up after you read. If you don't, do it anyway and pretend you wanted to. You'll be hooked!

VI. BUY MERCH ONLINE

Shirts for all of you. If you wear an Upside shirt anywhere on this earth, you'll automatically demand power and respect. Other good news is that the fine folks at Bandwear are in charge of shipping all this stuff. That means you'll actually get it super fast. Prove us wrong, we dare you...
