Doe's. (Cherry Street, between Utica & Peoria, Tulsa.) Friday, 2 May...

It's my birthday, so if the weather permits, I'll be playing out on the patio. If not, I'll have to make other arrangements for receiving your gifts. (smile emoticon-thingy here)

Okemah Chamber of Commerce. (At the Grape Ranch Winery, Okemah, OK.) Saturday, 3 May. This is a private function, so why do I tell you? Because we're promoting Okemah as the Music Capital of the World, and soon, the town will be overrun by artisans, craftsmen, buskers, increasing real estate values and rumor has it, Dolly will soon be erecting Dollywood II on the spot where Woody Guthrie first made out with the little girlie in "Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key.' Okay, I may have made up that last part, but if you haven't seen Okemah lately, you should see what they've done with the place.

Rick's Cafe Americain. (51st and Harvard, Tulsa.) Wednesday, 7, 14, 21, 28 May, 6:30-9:30.

Big changes are coming, but I'll tell you about them when you get there.

Thursday Night Science. (At Snockers, 1424 E. Tuxedo Blvd, Bartlesville, OK.) Thursday, 8 May, 9 pm. With Don Morris and Donnie Wood, and other people with 'Don' in their names. Starts at 9 and ends when the good people of Bartlesville call the cops.

Red Rock Canyon. (9916 Riverside Pkwy, Tulsa.) Friday, 9 May, Saturday, 24 May, 6:30 pm.

Just beside the lovely Arkansas River, in south Tulsa, a community that decided to develop the area around the river so as to attract restaurants and shops and thousands of people. What the hell were they thinking?

French Hen. (71st and Yale, Tulsa.) Saturday, 10 May, 7 pm. Je ne sais pas quoi dire ici, sauf, vous aussi, vous venez, aussi! (I should admit something: I don't know French. I'm just making this stuff up every month.)

Philbrook Museum of Art. (2727 S. Rockford Rd, Tulsa.) Sunday, 11 May, 2:30 pm, Patty Johnson Wilson Auditorium. Violinist and conductor, Marc Gottlieb, who's like a big mucky muck first violinist (you know, the guy in the really nice tux), is presenting this concert with 12 guest musicians, including cellist and Tulsa Violin Shop Owner, Lou Lynch. He asked me to perform, too. This is haughty taughty, so no wet t-shirt contests till we get to the parking lot.

Mayfest International Arts Festival. (5th and Main, downtown Tulsa.) Friday, 16 May, 6:30 pm. Bartlett Square Stage. With the band. It's that time of year again. YAY! Beer, funnel cakes, musicians, artists, beer, velvet Elvis portraits, corn dogs, beer, strange wood sculptures, more beer and a whole bunch of people downtown. What a concept! (Did I mention the beer?)

The Mabee Center. (71st and Lewis, Tulsa.) Thursday, 22 May, 7:30 pm. Rumor has it that Huey Lewis and the News will be coming on AFTER me, so if you want to stay, you can, but don't feel like you have to. For more info and to buy your tickets, go to: http://www.mabeecenter.com/index.php?id=eventinfo173

The Grape Ranch. (6 miles south of I-40, exit #221, Okemah, OK.) Sunday, 4 & 25 May, 2 pm. I end where I started-- Okemah. Wine, beautiful land, Frozen Rose concoctions, happy dogs running amok, (a few snakes but, hey, it's nature) and lots of good music. Go to: www.graperanch.com

...and in other news...

IROK, Independent Radio Oklahoma has released volume ONE of The Voice of Oklahoma Music. A cd of 18 tracks of all original tunes by Oklahoma artists, including one of my tunes, Highway 33 (Home). Pick up your free copy at any of several locations in and around Tulsa. For more info, go to: www.irokradio.com and/or www.tulsamediagroup.com
