Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey is coming to the east and midwest in June to celebrate the release of their new album, ' Lil Tae Rides Again.' The Absolute Sound states: "The Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey step through the looking glass to emerge from the shadows of their disparate rock and jazz influences with something wholly fresh." JFJO will take this fresh approach on the road and begin their tour in Boston, hitting NYC & Philly, then through Ohio and onto Chicago,IL & Madison,WI before finishing in Iowa. For the entirety of the run the band will once again be accompanied onstage by Pete Tomshany on guitar to help re-create the lush sonic tapestries found on the new album. Prepare for sensory overload as JFJO further envelops the evening in 'Lil Tae' by enlisting VJ Golden Child to present projections every night. Even those who have seen JFJO before should prepare to be astonished! Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey enlisted underground electronic music producer, Tae Meyulks, to work with them on 'Lil Tae Rides Again. ' Recorded over the span of 2007 in Tulsa, the album is marked by its psych-jazz and ambient rock soundscapes. Bass Player Magazine calls the album "....powerfully evocative, making the listening experience alternately trying and transcendent."Under the Radar says "'Lil Tae Rides Again' bathes in electro-blackness, a blood-red island in a skewed fantasy. Gorgeous or beastly, it sticks to your shivering bones." To hear a track off of the new album be sure to check out the inaugural podcast from STS9's 1320 records. Once you have listened to STS9's new track, ' Shock Doctrine' , keep the podcast going to listen to JFJO's ' Tetherball Triumph', featured directly afterwards.
