JOE MACK RELEASES THIS CRAZY WORLD, NEW TOUR DATES
This Crazy World features 13 songs; 11 of which were solely written by the 29-year old Oklahoma native, one (“Fortune Teller”) co-written with
This Crazy World was co-produced by longtime friend Travis Linville (Burtschi Brothers, Mama Sweet, Carter Sampson) and features the guitar and dobro handy-work of Linville in addition to Ryan Jones (The Ills, Travis Linville Trio) on keys, Jeremy Watkins (Stoney LaRue) on fiddle, Chris Becker (The Souvenirs, The New Migrant Workers) on mandolin, Lyle Deiter (South 40) on harmonica, Giovanni “Nooch” Carnuccio (Mama Sweet, Eclectic Groove) on drums, and Gabe Marshall on guitar.
So the journey for the musician and media mogul, like this world, just got a bit crazier. The album will only be available at shows until December 16, when it will be available in a variety of formats at online retailers and in record stores across the mid-South. DEAR FRIENDS IN MEDIA, FAMILY AND FELLOW MUSICIANS – I hope this finds you well. I feel about as awkward writing this press release as I did interviewing Bill three weeks ago for OklaTravelNet. I can’t help it – I’m a mass communications junkie. If you’d like to learn more, set up an interview, or get a copy of the album for review, please feel free to contact me. A little more background is available in the attached bio, and the photo was taken by Peter Henshaw at the Grape Ranch Winery in
All my best,

Dfest 2009 will be July 24-25!
TULSA, OKLA. The founders of Dfest, the most comprehensive music festival in the Midwest, today announced the dates of next year's event, scheduled for July 24 and July 25 in downtown Tulsa. Fueled by a diverse collection of national and top local acts, the high-energy music festival broke attendance records in 2008 and is positioned to be even larger in 2009.
"We're still buzzing from the success of this year's Dfest and we're already up to our eye balls in big plans for next year," said Dfest cofounder Tom Green. "I know it's a long way off, but mark your calendars now “ July 24th and 25th“ for another amazing music experience in Tulsa."
Dfest 2008 featured 150 artists representing more than 20 musical genres on a dozen stages in downtown Tulsa's historic Blue Dome District. Each night, Dfest features national recording artists on large outdoor festival stages while top local, regional and national emerging artists perform on a multitude of outdoor states and indoor venue and club stages.

The non-profit arm of the Awards, Native American Music Association, a 501(c)(3) has launched a Winter Relief effort in conjunction with the Link Center Foundation for the Lakota people living on the Pine Ridge and RoseBud reservations. A recent Blizzard on November 5th knocked out over one thousand power lines, created 20ft snow drifts and sub zero degree weather. The Association has established a target goal of raising $15,000 to directly purchase emergency propane, electric, and wood for Elders, Disabled & children who are living without heat or electricity in normal living conditions.
At present, 10% of the Association's total target goal has already been achieved thanks to the recent donations of individuals across the country. The Association has purchased and ensured the direct delivery of propane to multiple households in the districts of Pine Ridge, Allen, and Porcupine throughout the Pine Ridge reservation with those donations. A NAMA task force has been mobilized to better gage local needs throughout all districts and are working with Community Action Program offices (CAP). The last report stated there were some outlying areas still without some power and that propane, electric heat, wood and wood stoves were widely needed throughout many houses.
THE BART CROW BAND’S 4TH ANNUAL MUSIC FOR MIKA EVENT RAISES THOUSANDS FOR CHILDREN’S CHARITY!
Nashville, TN-November 20, 2008-“Music For Mika is one of the most important gifts that music has allowed me to be a part of. I created this event simply to bring a smile to the faces of my dearest friends who found the courage and strength to let the Lord guide them through a heartbreaking time in their lives.” Bart Crow has seen Music For Mika grow considerably over the last four years from a small town gathering to a significant annual event that generates thousands of dollars in the name of charity. Mika Michele Terry passed away on June 23, 2005 at the age of 6 months in a tragic accident. She was the youngest daughter to Mikey and Michele Terry. The 4th annual Music For Mika event headlined by the Bart Crow Band was held on Saturday, October 11th in Maypearl, Texas bringing in over 2000 supporters and raising $38,000. It was a night of stellar music featuring the Bart Crow Band and other Texas acts including the Mike McClure Band, 1100 Springs, Kyle Hunt Band, Joey Green Band, The Coalmen and The Cannon’s. A large percentage of the proceeds were donated to KIDS AND CARS, a national nonprofit child safety organization dedicated to preventing injuries and death to children in non-traffic, non-crash motor vehicle related events. The organization has been pioneering a national movement since 1999 to raise awareness of such incidents as well as lobbying through Congress for government policy changes. These regulations include a power window safety standard, driver reminder system and rearward visibility standard. President and founder, Janette Fennell, has received numerous national awards for her efforts and is a well sought out expert in the non-traffic field in the major media. “Music For Mika and the Terry family has been very helpful in raising awareness about the dangers children face in and around motor vehicles. They have worked hard to meet with legislators and have also provided financial support to help move forward our agenda.” In addition to KIDS AND CARS, a portion of the proceeds will also go to a scholarship fund in Mika’s name to help a Maypearl high school senior go to college. For more information visit http://www.kidsandcrs.org/.
“We were glad to be a part of the Music For Mika festival this year. It always feels good to be able to play music and raise money for others. I know when my daughter had her tumor operation, the music community stood behind me and helped pay off all of her doctor bills. Music For Mika was another example of musicians coming together to a do a little good in the world. That's never a bad thing.” - Mike McClure/Mike McClure Band
“Being involved with Music For Mika has been an inspiration for 1100 Springs. To see so many artists and fans come together in support of such an important cause is the greatest affirmation of the family atmosphere in Texas Music.” - Matt Hilliyar, 1100 Springs
The Bart Crow Band welcomes utility player David Fralin and manager Scott Welch to the nest! Fralin hails from Lubbock, Texas where he has been playing in bands since the age of 13. His goal: To do whatever the song needs including contributions on keyboards, organ, percussion, violin, and background vocals. Fralin is thrilled to be a part of the Bart Crow Band experience. “These guys are awesome, beautiful gents. We are going to have a lot of fun…ladies beware!” http://www.bartcrowband.com/
Scott Welch is the president of Scott Welch Management, Inc. based in Nashville. He has managed the careers and development of multi-platinum recording artists Alanis Morissette, LeAnn Rimes, Steve Perry, Paula Abdul, Collective Soul, C&C Music Factory, and others that have sold a combined total of over 100 million albums worldwide. Under Scott’s direction, Alanis Morrisette’s debut album Jagged Little Pill was the largest selling debut album in history, with worldwide sales in excess of 34 million records and the winner of seven GRAMMY awards plus numerous critic and sales awards globally. Scott also helped launch MP3.com, Stubhub and is a partner in Highnote, an online radio and video company. He currently manages country/GAC star Mark Wills, Johnny Cooper, The Bart Crow Band, Allison Kaplan and is the executive producer of the Conway Twitty musical. “It is rare that a manager gets to represent an artist who is both a great singer and a gifted songwriter. Bart has the ability to write a melody and wrap it in a lyric that everyone can relate to. Everyone at our company is excited to represent him and we recognize how bright his future is.” |
From Mike comes this note...
I got this from a friend. It is a sad reflection on our economy, but useful information as you prepare to do holiday shopping.
I wanted to give everyone a heads up that if you tend to give gift
cards around the holidays, you need to be careful that the cards will be
honored after the holidays.
Stores that are planning to close after Christmas are still selling the cards through the holidays even though the cards will be worthless January 1. There is no law preventing them from doing this.
