JOE MACK RELEASES THIS CRAZY WORLD, NEW TOUR DATES

Oklahoma singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Joe Mack independently released his first ever full-length studio album, entitled This Crazy World, on Halloween of this year to warm audiences and rave reviews from musical peers and fellow journalists.

This Crazy World features 13 songs; 11 of which were solely written by the 29-year old Oklahoma native, one (“Fortune Teller”) co-written with Dan Rose of Colorado musical fame, and another (“Hillbilly Reggae Girl”) written by one of Mack’s songwriting mentors, Bill Erickson. Mack’s musical landscape is diverse, as is evident on the new album – which covers all ground from back-porch-Okie-picking to bass-driven break beat funk to lucidly layered psychedelic jams. But unlike the majority of his gigs, which are rowdy and raucous solo shindigs, Mack turned to several colleagues to bring a fully orchestrated feel to his crazy, diverse album.

This Crazy World was co-produced by longtime friend Travis Linville (Burtschi Brothers, Mama Sweet, Carter Sampson) and features the guitar and dobro handy-work of Linville in addition to Ryan Jones (The Ills, Travis Linville Trio) on keys, Jeremy Watkins (Stoney LaRue) on fiddle, Chris Becker (The Souvenirs, The New Migrant Workers) on mandolin, Lyle Deiter (South 40) on harmonica, Giovanni “Nooch” Carnuccio (Mama Sweet, Eclectic Groove) on drums, and Gabe Marshall on guitar.

So the journey for the musician and media mogul, like this world, just got a bit crazier. The album will only be available at shows until December 16, when it will be available in a variety of formats at online retailers and in record stores across the mid-South. DEAR FRIENDS IN MEDIA, FAMILY AND FELLOW MUSICIANS – I hope this finds you well. I feel about as awkward writing this press release as I did interviewing Bill three weeks ago for OklaTravelNet. I can’t help it – I’m a mass communications junkie. If you’d like to learn more, set up an interview, or get a copy of the album for review, please feel free to contact me. A little more background is available in the attached bio, and the photo was taken by Peter Henshaw at the Grape Ranch Winery in Okemah, Okla. in Sept. 2007.

All my best,
jm

Joe Mack
