Oklahoma-based twosome, NewFire, is pleased to announce that they will be hitting the road with multi-Dove award winning group FFH, as they make their return to touring in 2009. In addition to filling the opening act slot, Jonathan Firey has also become a permanent member of FFH.
"We're so excited to be on the road with our good friends,” says Allison Firey. “We always love the chance to share our hearts and our music, and we're grateful and blessed to have the opportunity to be on the road with a group we believe in so much. They've also been a huge encouragement to what we're trying to do with NewFire as well."
Husband and wife duo, Jonathan and Allison Firey, blend their acoustic guitar melodies, rich vocal harmonies and worshipful lyrics to create a sound that is all their own. They blend stylings of contemporary pop music with an acoustic/folk flair for a fresh sound on their self-titled national debut. NewFire released last summer and is available at online retailers and in stores nationwide. The current radio single, “Choosing You Today” is making an impact at radio now.
Since the release of their album, NewFire has toured with Warren Barfield and Ronnie Freeman on the Worth Fighting For Tour and also performed with Scott Krippayne, By the Tree, Marty Magehee (of 4Him), Wayne Watson, Farewell June and Dennis Jernigan, to name a few.
Jeromy Deibler, FFH’s lead singer and co-founder, explains the group’s return. “Since our departure in 2006, Jennifer and I have moved to Africa and back, welcomed our second child, and dealt with my MS diagnosis. The Lord knew we needed a break but we are beginning to feel like it’s time to renew our connection with our audience and start telling them about this chapter in our story.”
Jonathan adds, "FFH has always been close to my heart, and although the break was a good time of rest for all involved, it will be nice to get back out with the group again. I'm excited to see what this new chapter in FFH's story will bring, and glad to be have been asked to be a part of its ministry again."
Hailing from a long line of great musicians, Jonathan Firey is a world-class guitarist, singer and songwriter whose credits include tours and recordings with Phil Keaggy, Dennis Jernigan, FFH, Junior Brown, Charlie Hall and others. He has released a number of well-received instrumental albums including Prayerful Moods for Madacy Entertainment as well as An Acoustic Wedding and The Acoustic Christmas Album for Tonebox Records. Jonathan has also been named one of Rhapsody.com’s Top 20 selling artists in the Instrumental Music category.
