Local radio station "Z-104.5 The Edge" (KMYZ) and the all-Oklahoma streaming music site TulsaOriginalMusic.com presents the 2009 Tulsa Original Music Showcase on Friday at Cain's Ballroom.

Last year's showcase sold out, and this show promises a big crowd with an even broader variety of genres, from reggae to rock to anti-folk.

"It's Woody Guthrie meets Joey Ramone, comedy rock with a dark side," said Ross Greenawalt, aka Acoustic Ross, of his music and new album, "The Anarchist Fakebook," released last year.

Trite tunes tell about study hall, swords of protection, tornados, "y'all," life imitating life and how "the RIAA took my baby away."

"This is going to be fun," said Greenawalt. "I haven't played with any of these bands outside of a festival setting, and this is my first time on the main stage of Cain's. So, yeah, it's going to be really fun."

Other acts are:

Oklahoma City-based Aranda is quickly becoming one of the hottest bands in Oklahoma. Brothers Gabe and Daemon Aranda have been writing, singing and performing together for over a decade, with influences including Led Zeppelin, the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix.

Sam and the Stylees formed in 2002 in Tulsa. This vibrant band captured the hearts of the masses in the regional music scene, drawing large crowds with their enchanting instrumental work.

Left of center and pushing the envelope, Congress of a Crow is a five-piece, regionally touring band from Tulsa. This is rumored to be the band's last show together, so catch 'em while they're here.

Hailing from Tulsa, My Solstice creates music that anyone can relate to.

Singer-songwriters Dante Schmitz and Acoustic Ross will play mini-acoustic sets between the four headlining bands.
