First Street Music Hall in Tulsa Closes
First Street Music Hall, located at First Street and Detroit Avenue, in downtown Tulsa has closed its doors. The hall included three venues (The Blank Slate, Exit 6C and Cappellas) under one banner and was an early music home to eventual “American Idol” winner David Cook.
The hall, which opened in the summer of 2007 in time for DFest, hosted shows with Apples In Stereo, Ian Moore, Sick Puppies, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Digital Underground, P.M. Dawn, Afro Man, Black Stone Cherry, The Feds, Ludo and many local bands.
Club co-owner Jeff Martinson told the Tulsa World that his club would be relocating in June to the former Eclipse location at Sixth Street and Peoria Avenue.
