TULSA — Recently reunited rockers Creed think they can take their fans "Higher" again. The band, known for such hits as “Higher,” My Sacrifice” and “With Arms Wide Open,” will bring their upcoming reunion tour to the BOK Center on Oct. 9.

Tickets will go on sale May 30, according to www.winduprecords.com, the online home of Creed’s record label, Wind-Up Records.

Creed was one of the biggest-selling rock bands of the late 1990s and early 2000s before an acrimonious 2004 breakup. The post-grunge group has sold nearly 35 million records and was one of the top touring acts of the '90s.

The band’s first album, 1997’s “My Own Prison,” spawned four No. 1 singles — the title track, “Torn,” “What’s This Life For” and “One” — on Billboard’s mainstream rock radio charts. Creed was the first band to achieve that mark with a debut album, according to AllMusicGuide.com.

Creed’s sophomore effort, 1999’s “Human Clay,” boasted three more chart-toppers — “Higher,” “What If” and “With Arms Wide Open” — giving the band seven straight No. 1 singles. “Higher” spent a record-breaking 17 weeks at No. 1 on the rock radio charts, and “With Arms Wide Open” won the group a Grammy for best rock song.

The band’s 2001 album “Weathered” produced two hits on the pop and rock charts: “My Sacrifice” and “One Last Breath.”

The band reconciled late last year, and all four original members — Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, drummer Scott Phillips and bassist Brian Marshall — are participating in the new tour, which kicks off Aug. 6 in Pittsburgh and runs through Oct. 14.

“Our career as Creed came to a very abrupt and unforeseen ending. After reflecting on some of the greatest personal and professional moments of our lives, we've come to realize that we are still very capable of continuing that career and our friendship on a grander scale than ever before,” Phillips said in a news release.

The band also is planning a new album.

“It 's amazing how life can change and bring you full circle. Time gave us all a chance to reflect, grow and gain a deeper appreciation of our friendships, artistic chemistry, passion for music, and sincere love for our fans! It's rare in life to get a second chance to make a first impression and we embrace the opportunity. We all believe the best is yet to come!” Stapp said in the release.
