There's no need to wish upon a star, because This Week in Film & Music has activities designed to be all you want and more. December's installment of Art "a la CART" enlists Norman High School music ensembles and two short films from deadCENTER Film Festival to present an evening of enticing local entertainment. For those who prefer live music as they do a little Christmas shopping, the Deluxe Indie Craft Bazaar offers a full roster of talent, including Skating Polly and Sugar Free Allstars. Plus, Oklahoma musicians Maggie McClure and Shane Henry partner for a special performance at The Blue Door. This weekend is the stuff that dreams are made of.

The Millennium Trilogy
The Oklahoma City Museum of Art concludes its two-week engagement of theMillennium Trilogy this weekend. Earlier this week, the saga began as reporter Mikael Blomkvist and hacker Lisbeth Salander team up to uncover the truth about the disappearance of a business tycoon's niece decades ago in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. On Thursday evening, Salander finds herself as the prime suspect in two gruesome murders in The Girl Who Played With Fire. Then, the rest of the weekend, Blomkvist and Salander must prove her innocence as they uncover the truth about a government conspiracy and Salander's own past in The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest.

Jerrod Niemann
As a renowned songwriter, Jerrod Niemann has seen his songs recorded by country giants such as Garth Brooks, Jamey Johnson, Neal McCoy, Julie Roberts, and more. As a performer, the Kansas native has released three albums, charted his first singe, "I Love Women (My Momma Can't Stand)," and scored his first number one hit with "Lover, Lover," a remake of Sonia Dada's 1992 song "You Don't Treat Me No Good No More." Austin native country artist Kyle Park will open.

Howl
One of the voices of the Beat Generation, poet Allen Ginsberg wrote "Howl" in 1955 as part of his collection of work entitled Howl and Other Poems. Two years later, Ginsberg and his publisher, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, were on trial for obscenity. Starring James Franco as the famed poet, Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman's drama Howl follows the events of the widely publicized, controversial trial and the defining moments leading up to it in a genre-bending hybrid that captures a pivotal moment in the birth of an entire counterculture.

Art "a la CART"
Each month, the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art teams up with the Norman Arts Council's Second Friday Circuit of Art, a monthly Cleveland Area Rapid Transit route that connects the Downtown Arts District, outlying galleries, performance halls, and Campus Corner. Together, the organizations host Art "a la CART," a monthly celebration of creativity including art activities for the family, live music, and a short film. For December, the museum will host performances by Norman High Schoolensembles for global and general music, theatre, and the jazz and show choirs along with the short films O Pintor De Ceos and Junko's Shamisen presented by the deadCENTER Film Festival.

After only a few years together, Norman instrumental group MONTU has developed a large fanbase among college students across the country. Boyz II Men
Best known for emotional ballads and intricately complex a cappella harmonies, Grammy-winning R&B group Boyz II Men has sold an estimated 60 million albums worldwide. Often recognized as one of the most successful groups of the 1990s, the band's hits include "On Bended Knee," "Motownphilly," "End of the Road," and "One Sweet Day" with Mariah Carey. Now touring as a trio, Boyz II Men recently announced plans for a special 20th anniversary album, which will feature all four members: Wayna Morris, Shawn Stockman, Nathan Morris, and Michael McCary, who left the group in 2003 due to health problems.

Rich O'Toole 
Houston singer-songwriter Rich O'Toole is the first artist to have three consecutive singles off a debut album reach the Top 10 of the Texas Music Chart. Produced by Grammy-nominee Mack Damon, that album, Seventeen, was also named by theTexas Music Times as the "Best Album of 2006 That No One Told You About." Again working with Damon, O'Toole's second album was released in 2008 and includes ten self-penned songs and a cover of The Postal Service's 2003 single "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight."

Susan Herndon
When she was young, Tulsa singer-songwriter Susan Herndon took guitar lessons from Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame member Tommy Cook.
