EDMOND — University of Central Oklahoma Jazz Lab is hosting its eighth annual "Modern Recording Technology Workshop” July 13-17.

The workshop will help participants learn the basic concepts involved in audio recording while giving them hands-on experience as an engineer, producer and musician.

Participants will work with standard analog mixers and modern digital recording software.

"At the end of the week, participants will leave with their own complete multi-track recording,” said Brian Gorrell, head of the Jazz Studies division for the UCO School of Music and director of the Jazz Lab recording studio.

Tuition for the workshop is $300 per person, and space is limited. The workshop is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jazz Lab on the corner of 5th and Littler in Edmond.

Susan Parks is the marketing and communications manager at the UCO College of Arts, Media & Design.
