Eighties' titans unleash their musical prowess in Pryor for four days of Rocklahoma. Graham Colton drops six new songs with hisTwenty Something EP and a concert at the Blue Door. Wighead celebrates their long-awaited foray into the recording world with a special CD release show and costume party at Cain's Ballroom. Nollywood Babylon
Coined in the early '90s, the term Nollywood is used to describe Nigerian cinema, now the third largest film industry in the world behind the United States and India. Creating stories that explore the growing battle between traditional mysticism and modern culture, good and evil, witchcraft and Christianity, Nollywood auteurs have mastered a down-and-dirty production formula in a country plagued by poverty. Directed by Ben Addelman and Samir Mallal, the documentary Nollywood Babylon delves first-hand into the homegrown industry's phenomenal success.

Anvil! The Story of Anvil
At the age of 14, Steve Kudlow and Robb Reiner made a pact to rock together forever. In the late 1980s, their band Anvil became one of the most influential thrash metal bands in music, inspiring successful bands such as Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. However, the Canadian band quickly faded into obscurity. Directed by former roadie Sacha Gervasi,Anvil! The Story of Anvil documents the group's journey to overcome their lack of recognition as they continue to do the thing they love: rock. Band members Steve Kudlow, Robb Reiner, and Glen Five will be present for a Q&A session after Friday's premiere.

Kevin Fowler
After getting his start in the award-winning hard rock band Dangerous Toys and later with his own band Thunderfoot, Kevin Fowler integrates the rock attitude of his past with honky tonk humor to create a true country-rock sound. On his 2007 album, Bring It On, the Texas-native solidifies his rowdy reputation with such songs as "Long Line of Losers," "I Pulled a Hank Last Night," and "Cheaper to Keep Her."

Chad Sullins and the Last Call Coalition
Before becoming a full-time musician, Chad Sullins honed his songwriting skills driving an eighteen-wheeler around the country. Now the leader of Stillwater's Chad Sullins and the Last Call Coalition, the singer-songwriter is joined by lead guitarist Josh Rutz, bassist Jerry Stanley, and drummer Mike Hatley. Departing from their regular red dirt-rock show, this performance will be an acoustic set.

Graham Colton EP Release
Oklahoma native singer-songwriter Graham Colton quickly rose to the top of the charts with the hit song, "Best Days", which has been featured on American Idol and major talk shows such as Oprah, Ellen, Today, and Regis and Kelly. Recently, Colton entered a recording studio in Norman to create acoustic versions of six new songs for his new project entitled Twenty Something EP. Fans are invited to celebrate its release during a special performance at Oklahoma City's Blue Door.

Muskogee's Wild Card Band
What began as a last-minute wedding reception group has grown into a group recognized as "Best Local Area Band" by the Muskogee Daily Phoenix Annual Reader's Poll in 2002. Dubbing their music "dirt-billy blues," Muskogee's Wild Card Band delivers a variety of rock, blues, country, funk, and western swing influenced by Bob Will & the Texas Playboys, Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, and Neil Young.

Cool Hand Luke
In conjunction with its Summer Film Series on the Lawn, the Philbrook Museum presents an evening screening of the 1967 Academy Award-winner Cool Hand Luke. Starring Paul Newman in the title role, the film tells the story of a prisoner with an unbreakable spirit who refuses to conform to the system. Selected for preservation in the Library of Congress' National Film Registry, the classic celebrates the anti-establishment agenda popular in the 1960s.

Throw Down Your Heart
Winner of the Audience Award at the 2008 Vancouver International Festival, Sascha Paladino's documentary Throw Down Your Heart follows American banjo virtuoso Béla Fleck on his journey through Uganda, Tanzania, Gambia, and Mali to explore the little known African roots of the banjo. Using his instrument, Béla transcends barriers of language and culture to record an album, finding common ground and forging connections with musicians from very different backgrounds.

Wighead CD Release and Costume Party
Over a year in the making, the self-titled debut album from Tulsa's Wighead features new songs as well as completely re-recorded previous tracks. Formed in 2001, the group didn't begin playing live shows until 2007, but has quickly become known for their distinct concert experience and quirky, fun and danceable indie-pop music. Fellow Oklahoma artists Gaurdant and Sweet Baby Jaysus will open the show.

The Gates
In 2005, artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude installed 7,503 orange gates with saffron fabric throughout Central Park in New York City, a project they first proposed in 1979. Directed by Antonio Ferrera, Albert Maysles, David Maysles and Matthew Prinzing, The Gates documents the 26-year struggle involved in the creation of the artistic spectacle and the process of bringing their art to the masses via one of the largest public art installations in history. Following the screening, artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude will be present for a Q&A session.

Galapagos
Created in 2006, Norman's Galapagos began this year with a new lineup consisting ofMack Burke, Thomas Cates, Kiel Dehnert, and Zane Russell. Named for the Kurt Vonnegut novel, the rock-blues group keeps both their shows and music fresh by frequently sponsoring public jam sessions. Their 2008 debut album, Electric Shaman, brilliantly showcases their ever-evolving sound on tracks like "Unbeaten Path" and "Breakfast."

Wild Women of Jazz: Olivia Duhon

Summer Breeze Concert Series: Wanda Jackson
Norman's Performing Arts Studio continues the Summer Breeze Concert Series with the Queen of Rock, Wanda Jackson. We've listed her many well-known accomplishments before, but we are always happy to brag on the Maude native and American icon. In addition to being an early pioneer of women in the music industry, Jackson began her career under the wing of Elvis Presley, helped to create the rockabilly genre, and was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She has enjoyed dozens of hits over the decades, including "Let's Have a Party," which was a finalist in the search for the Official Oklahoma Rock and Roll Song.
