Art Show and Sale Opening Night

Art Show Details and Participating Artists Announced

Tahlequah, Oklahoma, June 11^th 2010 –Friday June 11^th will be a "Hopping Night" in downtown Tahlequah. In addition to Myers Studio opening its new location with a group art show, the Summer Arts Invitational four other art opening will be taking place as well. In all there will be five art openings in Downtown Tahlequah for the evening. It's sure to be a night of not just great art but fun, food, drinks and live music. You need not to be an artist to enjoy the "Art Happens" of the evening.

You can begin your "Hop" at one end of the main street in downtown and make your way through four blocks of stunning art on display.

 

Split Personality at NDN Art Gallery is another fun concept featuring the artwork of Mickel Yantz. This show will have works from both Mickel's recent body of sculpture work and work from his online comic series NUT Cracks. NDN Art Gallery & Custom Framing is located at 415 N. Muskogee Street, Downtown Tahlequah. Next door to Sam & Ella's Restaurant.

 

Perceptions of Being will be showing at the NSU Gallery featuring recent work from Tony Tiger and Bobby C. Martin. Both are nationally recognized artists from who you can expect artwork that is modern yet deeply rooted in the artist's native culture. NSU Gallery is located at 325 N. Muskogee St. in Downtown Tahlequah.

 

Also on the same block as the NSU Gallery, the Cherokee Artist Association will be hosting a 12 X 12 artwork show and sale to benefit the organization. Various artists will have work in this show.

 

The Summer Arts Invitational at Myers Studio will feature the artwork of Kelie Myers, Robert Lewis, Christie Duschel, Bobby C. Martin, Tom Baker, Angela Castro, Mike Brown, JT DeShong, Toni Bailey, Linda Reeves, Renee K Lyons, Karen Parsons, Vanessa Somerville and Marjorie Bontemps. "It's a fun eclectic mix of artwork with a twist of whimsy, "says studio owner Kelie Myers.

 

Myers Studio is located in downtown Tahlequah at 215 N. Muskogee St., almost directly across from Downtown Family Dentistry.

 

Shows runs June 11^th – 20^th  additional Gallery Hours during the Show Dates are as follows: Monday – Friday 10am – 4pm, Saturday 10am – 3pm.

 

The Nature of Beauty Art Show will feature original artwork and photography from Lesa Cordle and Sharon Irla. This show will take place in the Photography by Lesa Studio & Gallery located at 108 S. Muskogee St. Across from the Cherokee Court House Square.

All the Art shows will be open 6-8pm and Myers Studio will be open until 9pm.
