Susan Herndon

June is bustin' out all over, as Oscar Hammerstein said,
(and to cut to the chase & for a quick look at dates, just scroll down)
There's a lot going on...

Tonight, from Arkansas, Emily Kaitz, is our featured songwriter at Crow Creek Tavern.  Emily's tunes have been heard the world-over and have been covered by a wide variety of bands and musicians, including Chet Atkins.  She's been writing songs for 43 years and has 9 albums to her credit.  (Last month, John Fullbright graced our songwriter stage, and it was a great night.)  Come experience Emily, she is completely unique and original.  Start time is 9 pm.

This Thursday, my band, the CherryPickers, will be playing at Crow Creek Tavern, starts at 8:30 pm, and on Friday, at Elwoods at the river's edge on 21st and Riverside, starts at 7 pm.   Both places always show us a great time and we'll be playing some of the new songs from our upcoming album.

The new album, by the way, is produced by Lloyd Maines and Bob Livingston and will be released this Fall!  Going back down to Austin this month to finish up a few things, mix and master it...  and looking forward to that.

But first, the CherryPickers:
we'll be taking our SouthWestern Gypsy Pilgrimmage Tour ;-)  ... with dates in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico... YOU COME, TOO  ...starting in my old stomping grounds of Norman, Oklahoma, and hoping to see all our buddies there.

And, it's still FESTIVAL SEASON:
with two of the best festivals around that we're looking forward to play and be a part of right here in Oklahoma:
OK MOZART FESTIVAL in Bartlesville
and
The WOODY GUTHRIE FOLK FESTIVAL in Okemah
you won't want to miss either of these great events.

In the meantime, there is R & R to be had from any falls that might have occurred recently... and there's fishin' to do.  (Plus, our office manager is taking a much needed break, so there might just be a pause in newsletters for a while.)  Nevertheless, and what's more:  We wish you a very cool summer and so hope to see you out!

With hugs, kisses, and gratitude--
thank you so much for your love and support!

~Susan
