Texhoma Band Red River Mudcats Release Debut Single "Good Day For The Blues" and B-Side "Today I Started Lovin' You Again" Featuring Special Guest Vocalist, Malford Milligan.
The Red River Mudcats have released their debut single, "Good Day for the Blues," from their upcoming self-titled release CD release. "Good Day for the Blues," is a duet version of the song originally recorded by Austin-based band, Storyville. The track features Storyville vocalist extraordinaire, Malford Milligan and the soulful, sultry vocals of Mudcats' frontwoman, Liz Calender. The B-side is the classic Bonnie Owens/Merle Haggard song, "Today I Started Loving You Again," re-worked here with a bluesy new twist. The group's full CD is scheduled for a June 2009 release.
The Red River Mudcats are Texas singer/songwriter Liz Calendar, teamed with hot Okie players - including guitar-slinger/ songwriter/producer Jeffrey Parker; drummer Dixie Weathers, and bassist Bobby Ryan Lester, who collectively deliver Americana Roots-Rock with flavors of Southern-fried Country Rock, Red Dirt, Texas Blues and Soul.
