Rock 'n' roll photographs to be sold in auction

Longtime rock 'n' roll photographer Henry Diltz will be a guest at the Sooner/Oklahoma City Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Breath of Life Gala on Oct. 12, when his work will be featured in the live auction portion of the event.

The live auction will include The Who photographed at Woodstock; a James Taylor photograph taken during a cover shoot; a Crosby, Stills and Nash limited-edition autographed photo taken during the cover shoot for their first album; and a Jimi Hendrix platinum print taken backstage at the Monterey Pop Festival, 1967.

In addition to Diltz, other celebrities expected to attend include former University of Oklahoma football running back Joe Washington and his wife, Meadow Lark; and honorary chairmen including Lt. Gov. Jari Askins; Oklahoma State University men's golf head coach Mike McGraw; Cortney Phillips-Smith, Miss Oklahoma USA 2001; former OU and NFL football player Trent Smith; Tyler Suiters and Kimberly Lohman-Suiters of KOCO-5; Jennifer Warren-Zabel, Miss Oklahoma 2005; Jackie Dubois-Miller, 2006 Wooden Citizenship Cup recipient; and U.S. Attorney John C. Richter.

The gala will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, 1700 NE 63. Tickets
