It's been a hard day's night for the boys in the heavy metal band Crooked X.
Those Coweta teens have been working all summer with a busy tour schedule, recording, writing music . . . and they've just announced they're going to develop a film a la the Beatles' "Hard Day's Night" campy classic. It will be produced by the boys and Spencer Proffer of the McGhee-Proffer Media team.
The movie will highlight the culture of "the CX Rock world, surrounded by known actors and musical personalities," said Donnie Frizzell, who has joined with the MPM team to help coordinate the band's plans with Bill Simpson, Crooked X drummer Boomer Simpson's dad, on behalf of the families.
Crooked X also is developing national touring and merchandising plans, a television series and will be opening for legendary rock act KISS at a 20,000-seat venue in Whistler, Canada, on Sept. 15, as well as teaming with other major bands of the genre, both classic and contemporary, Frizzell said.
"This is the first true team effort of love, respect and action of this kind," a press release from MPM stated in regard to the comprehensive multimedia marketing plan that's being developed.
"Go for it big time, and let's set the table."
