GREETINGS, FOLKS!
It never hurts to start the week off with your photo on the front page of the local paper...and especially when there is no mention of any legal action?...whew!

A week later and another 1,000 miles and those white stripes just keep flying by!!! Thanks to John Wolfe in Vernon and the folks at Wolfe Ford/Dodge, we are in our second Ford E-350 van and road worthy again!
MUSIC CHARTS: Yes, you've done it again...Johnny's new single smashed through into the TOP 10 on the Texas Music Charts this week at the #8 slot, thanks to our never-sleeping radio promoters and YOU, the fans who request our music! Look out Pat Green, Dierks Bentley, Wade Bowen, Miranda Lambert and Jack Ingram! We're looking to climb up a few slots, so don't flinch...ha!
This is our second visit inside the Top 10...so with a little help from everybody, we might work some nerves? Don't let up on those request lines...and, THANK YOU!!!
ROAD WARRIORS: Last week started off in Denton on Tuesday night for the North Texas State Fair...nothing like setting a new attendance record for Tuesday night at the NTSF...thanks to all of you who made the show. The performance was so "hot" that the breaker panel caught fire, but a quick-thinking Charlie and a burst from an extinguisher...plus a new fuse...got the show rolling again!
Thursday was marathon-day with a drive from WF to The Ranch in Midland and then after the show, an 8 hour drive back north to Stillwater. Thanks to the club staff, production crew and KNFM in Midland for a great night.
After an all night drive and 12 noon arrival in Stillwater, we loaded equipment into the building "in the rain" and Johnny and Brandon Jenkins had to take their show indoors at Tumbleweeds for College Fest. The rain finally stopped and Micky and the Motorcars and Kevin Fowler were able to get their shows in outdoors for day number two as OSU got their groove on before classes start next week!
Saturday brought us back to Wichita Falls and the second annual Shrine Fest. The day started of a little "iffy", but the clouds finally broke and we had a beautiful clear night. Casey Pilgreen started the music, then the Bart Crow Band and Johnny and Stoney LaRue closed the night. By the time Johnny took the stage there were over 7,000 fans inside the arena and it was a great hometown party! Below is a shot of Johnny at the merch table followed by a shot of the crowd during Johnny's set.
On Sunday and Monday, the Coop and his Band are Re-Cooping! This week starts off on Wednesday night with Johnny and Cody Shaw at the Wormy Dog in OKC. Last month, they went retro...so you never know what might happen this Wednesday night. you'll just have to show up and check it out! Is that Starsky...or Hutch?
One thing you can count on at a Johnny show is plenty of sweat...usually Johnny's! Thanks for the great pic, Joy!
This Friday night, we make our first visit to The Horseman in Fort Worth...come join the party!
Saturday, we're back in Brick town USA, in downtown OKC at our home away from home, the Wormy Dog!
...and Labor Day Sunday, it's a free show for all ages sponsored by our home town, the City of Wichita Falls...so bring those lawn chairs (but no coolers) and show up at 5 PM at the MPEC parking lot right next to Kay Yeager Coliseum for Jay Hollis, Johnny Cooper and Bigloo... followed by a huge 30 minute fireworks display at 8:30 PM simulcast on 99.9 KLUR radio!
YOU KNOW THE DRILL...pick your show (or shows), get your booty "on location" and be ready to ROCK!!!
...see 'ya down the road!
