DON HENLEY TALKS FIRST EAGLES LP IN THIRTEEN YEARSBefore a solo gig in Las Vegas, Don Henley spoke to Rolling Stone about the Eagles' upcoming The Long Road to Eden, the group's first studio album in twenty-eight years and their first release since 1994. "I think it's okay to go away for a while," he explained. "We've had some conflict within the group, and in terms of songwriting and recording, we just didn't feel like it up until now." THE BOB DYLAN 'I'M NOT THERE' FILM: THE PHOTO GALLERY Rolling Stone has been closely tracking the developments of the Todd Haynes-directed, Bob Dylan-inspired film I'm Not There. We visited the set last fall and provided details from a sneak peek of the film. WU-TANG CLAN COVER THE BEATLES During a recent interview, Wu-Tang Clan mastermind RZA let us in on a hot tip: On their next album, due November 13th, the group samples the Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" in a track titled "Gently Weeps." The song features Red Hot Chili Peppers' John Frusciante and George Harrison's son, Dhani, playing acoustic. Click here for more of RZA's take on the track.

DAILY TRACK: Sara Bareilles - "Come Round Soon" It's tempting to simply applaud Bareilles' capable Fiona Apple-on-Prozac homage for what it is: slightly edgy, stompy piano-based pop rock. That is, until she unfurls the earsplittingly impressive climax note of the Maroon 5-esque "Come Round Soon." Click here for more on Sara Bareilles' newest album.

DAILY REVIEW: M.I.A. - KalaKala is less pop-friendly than its predecessor. It's heavier, noisier, more jagged. Timbaland might conceivably have found a hit for M.I.A.; London-based "dirty house" producer Switch, credited on eight of twelve tracks, will not. The eclectic world-underclass dance amalgam M.I.A. has constructed is an art music whose concept recalls the Clash as much as anything else -- the aggression of the early Clash and the reach of the late (who she samples). But soon enough, the music does soften and, occasionally, give up a tune. Click here for more of Robert Christgau's review.
