Subject: | The Calling: Chapter 2 |
Body: | Like I said, I'm going to start forcing the songs that mean something to me on you. This song was on Mike McClure's 'Twelve Pieces' album and was written by Bob Childers. I cannot begin to state all of what this song stands for to me. All I can say is that when you're feeling a little lost...listen for your calling and you will find it. By doing what you know is right and trying your best not to falter from it, you will never fail in the end. By the way...I'll probably wind up throwing a lot of Bob's songs at you from here on out! ...thanks to Van Marsalis for getting me introduced to his music. The Calling: Chapter 2 Bob Childers Hanging around in a Mexican town With the rains comin' down in the dark Hopin' to find some kind of sign His soul's on the line and he's needin' a spark A dark eyed angel, dressed all in white Steps out of the night and takes his hand Said you must be the one whose reason has come When it's all said and done then we'll understand So into the night like two sparrows in flight Out of everyone's sight, through the cold To an old man 'most dead, still he raises his head And the last word he said is that the story's been told Said blessed is the man whose hearing a callin' And twice blessed is he that answers that call 'Cause his hand will stand when the mountains are fallin' But he may spend some time with his back to the wall Yeah, blessed is the man whose hearing a callin' And twice blessed is he that answers that call 'Cause his hand will stand when the mountains are fallin' And he will spend some time with his back to the wall |
