Y’ALL COME HAVE A BALL AT DOUG MORELAND’S

5TH ANNUAL CATTLELACS CALFRY!

CELEBRATION BEGINS

SEPTEMBER 22ND AFTER BRISK

2007 EUROPEAN TOUR!

Nashville-August 7, 2007-Doug Moreland carves his way to another top-notch cowboy consortium with the 5th Annual Cattlelacs Calfry on September 22nd. Cattlelacs Ranch & Gallery rests just on the outskirts of Austin and is Doug Moreland’s personal oasis away from his very busy tour schedule. The woodshop/one of a kind gallery sits on four acres of land in Manchaca, Texas and is home to the very inimitable annual throw down that can be experienced nowhere else in the state of Texas.

For a mere $10 ticket fans will hold a VIP pass to the grounds from 5:00 PM until Midnight where they can ingest, digest and invest in some of the best music, food, tournaments and authentic artwork around. This marks the very first year for the CATTLELACS CALFRY COOKING CONTEST! Anyone who thinks they’ve got the best balls in town are invited to put it to the test-ies in front of a batch of celebrity judges. Some of the prizes include personal and freshly carved wood trophies by the chainsaw wood carving extraordinaire himself, Doug Moreland. This year’s event will also feature bull riding from 4:00 to 5:00 PM with special appearance by Doug Moreland acting as clown, the horseshoe/washer tournaments, and live music from the Doug Moreland Experience, Ryan Bingham, Cody Shaw and other special guest appearances. Check out

It’s true that Doug Moreland’s chainsaw carving reputation is at an all time high what with the reopening of his gallery in 2007 not to mention media coverage on his work by outlets such as Austin Monthly Magazine and Wood Worker’s Journal. It is also true that his music reputation is at an all time high and soaring higher still. While the band continues to deliberate on the next single release off the new self-titled record, they also prepare to embark on a brisk and to the point three-week tour through Europe that will take them to the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France. Doug also recently performed at the 12th Annual Will Rogers Cowboy Awards in August 2007 and won Entertainer of The Year at the Texas Music Awards to boot!

Hot
off the press!
Texas native actor/film director Barry Tubb, whose acting credits include the Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, Jackass, Borat, Top Gun and Lonesome Dove, is finishing up the filming of his low budget independent film Clown Hunt. Along with Robert Earl Keen, Doug also makes a cameo appearance in the film singing his ever-popular “Beer Song.” Tubb plans to submit the film to the Sundance Film Festival.
