DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS - BRIGHTER THAN CREATION'S DARK
THE HOME FRONT WORLD TOUR 2008:
Tour Dates, Tickets

Today I'm home, recuperating from the weekend and gearing up for the album release date (1/22/08) and kick off of our upcoming tour. Last week we opened our tour with three preview shows in our home town of Athens GA. We played at the world famous fabulous 40 Watt Club, which has sort of been our home base for the last seven or so years.

The sold out shows were a lot of fun for us and hopefully almost as much for everyone else.

Next week New West Records will release our new album BRIGHTER THAN CREATION'S DARK.

It's a long sprawling piece of work and a bit of a grower, but folks seem to be liking it so far and we're really pleased with the response it's been getting from both the press and the folks out there who have figured out a way to hear it so far.

On Feb. 10th, our dear friend Bettye LaVette is up for a Grammy Award for her album THE SCENE OF THE CRIME. David Barbe and I co-produced it and Drive-By Truckers played on it, as well as David Hood (my Dad) and Spooner Oldham, who has of course been playing with us a lot over the past year.

On Feb. 11th we will kick off the first leg of our HOME FRONT WORLD TOUR 2008 in Anaheim CA and Feb. 12th in LA at The Avalon. Look for dates near you or take a fun road trip to someplace you haven't been and come to The Rock Show. Dates and Details available on line at www.drivebytruckers.com.

Finally I want to thank everyone out there for their support. 2007 ended up being one of the most important and fulfilling years in our history as a band. We're really excited about getting back out on the road and playing these new songs (and some old ones too) for folks. As most know, we never use set lists or pre-plan much about our show, preferring to let it happen as it does. That's part of the fun in being a working democracy and letting each night take it's shape due to our musical whims and the energy we receive from you out there. Some of our songs (old and new) come from some pretty dark places and tell some unsavory stories about life on the fringes and beyond, but the show itself is always a celebration. Dancing in the darkness may sound like a cliche' but it still holds some life-affirming beauty and we can't wait to do it all again.

Long Live Rock and Roll and See You at The Rock Show.
