Big Meteor Publishing announces the release of their new live venue directory called “The Indie Venue Bible.”

The Indie Venue Bible is a collection of 26,000 live music venues in the US and Canada. Venues of all sizes are featured including clubs, bars, restaurants, lounges, coffee shops, theaters, halls, churches, book stores, community centers, house concerts and open mics. There are also 1,500 festivals listed as well as over 1000 colleges for any artist that wants to plan a college tour.

The Indie Venue Bible lists the obvious venues that you can find in any venue directory. What sets it apart from the others is the massive list of lesser known venues that you won't find listed anywhere else. There are thousands of venues listed in smaller towns that have been ignored by mainstream venue directories. For example, The Indie Venue Bible has listings for over 300 cities and towns in New York State alone.

To make your life easier, we went a step further and painstakingly researched which genres of music each of these venues feature.

Once the genres of a venue were determined, that venue was then tagged with a set of unique, colorful “GENRE TAGS.” These genre tags allow you to scroll through The Indie Venue Bible and see instantaneously which venues in a given area welcome your style of music. Planning your tour, locally, regionally or nationally, has never been so easy!

We know that venue owners have good intentions when they say they welcome "All Styles" of music, but the truth of the matter is, they don't.

What happens when I walk into the club with my didgeridoo? What about the Christian Death Metal band pulling up out front in their van?

Wikipedia lists over 600 different genres of music. Most venues welcome but a small slice of this musical pie. Even the most eclectic ones draw the line .... somewhere.

Saying that they welcome ALL styles is a disservice to you. It doesn't mean anything. Instead of trying to figure out what "all styles" means to a particular venue owner, what you need to know is what styles of music they really welcome.

We have done our very best to bring this to you!
