Some 20 years ago, the Red Dirt Rangers started out on "The Farm" in Stillwater. The stretch of land was — and is — an informal collective and " a nurturing place for lost souls, poets, friends and musicians." It also spawned a revolution called Red Dirt, and includes such members of Cross Canadian Ragweed, Stoney LaRue, Mark McClure, Bob Wiles, Tom Skinner, Randy Crouch and the beloved Bob Childers, among many, many more.

Come celebrate that history with a long roster of Red Dirt Ranger family and friends when it all comes together on Friday for a charity fundraiser at Cain's Ballroom, 423 N. Main St. It's free and all ages. All proceeds go to support Tulsa-area musicians in need. (Please read this week's Tulsa World Scene section and tulsaworld.com for more on this event.)
