— Music, man! Get up and get out!
There is plenty of Oklahoma music to celebrate when you think about it. Music has its tap roots firmly planted in our state, and Oklahoma musicians continue to have a rich and profound impact on the world’s music culture.
There are hundreds of talented born-and-bred Oklahoma musicians who claim Oklahoma as home. These Oklahoma music icons serve as ambassadors for our great state around the globe through their music, song lyrics and performances.
So when Muskogee has a chance to showcase the biggest music star on the planet — and one who hails from just down the road — we’d better not think twice about it. We simply owe it to our heritage to show up in droves.
Next week, the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, right here in Muskogee, will induct 2009 American Country Music Entertainer of the Year, four-time Grammy winner and Oklahoma music icon Carrie Underwood along with Oklahoma artists and performers Rocky Frisco and Ramona Reed. The event is Thursday.
Carrie Underwood. That’s historic for our community and our state. A sellout is a must. The eyes of the national, state and local media and fans of music worldwide will be watching as Carrie takes the stage to be inducted.
The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame began inducting musicians in 1995, and that long tradition continues each and every year.
But it’s once in a lifetime that we will host such a music legend as Carrie Underwood.
It’s impressive and a great excuse to dig down deep into your pocket to purchase a ticket. Get out those boots, dust off that cowboy jacket and come celebrate with us.
Music unites us and gives us hope for the future, and while we all are watching our pennies these days, music will most certainly sooth us during this rough economy.
Muskogee has an obligation to support this live concert full out, not only because the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame is based in our own home town, but especially because Carrie is our own sweetheart from nearby Checotah.
Click Here to purchase tickets. Or call the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame at 687-0800. Ticket prices range from $39.95 to $79.95, plus handling charges.
We are proud to honor and recognize Oklahoma’s musicians, songwriters and performers, and to collect and preserve memorabilia from our inductees.
Surely, you are just as proud.
