Oklahoma History Center presents 'Rockabilly Weekend'

This weekend, the Oklahoma History Center celebrates the birth of rock 'n' roll music with a weekend of rockabilly.

The event includes free admission into the "Another Hot Oklahoma Night" exhibit that chronicles the history and evolution of rock music in Oklahoma at the center, 2401 N. Laird Ave., in Oklahoma City. The special exhibit in part showcases rockabilly musicians from Oklahoma who helped make popular the unique genre of rock, country and hillbilly music.

On Friday, see vintage '50s style with a rockabilly fashion show and live music from Clyde Stacy, Tulsa's own The Starkweather Boys and The Beltline. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. All ages are welcome.



On Saturday, see a vintage car show and roundtable with rockabilly artists. Saturday events are free with paid $5 admission to the Oklahoma History Center. All ages are welcome.
