Oklahomans nominated

Oklahoma's Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire have earned nominations for the "2009 American Music Awards," airing at 7 p.m. Nov. 22 on ABC, channel 8.

Taylor Swift leads the nomination race with six, Michael Jackson has five, Eminem has four and Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Kings of Leon and T.I. earned three nominations each. Nominated for 2009

Artist of the Year are Lady Gaga, Eminem, Kings of Leon, Michael Jackson and Swift.

Grammy winner Underwood is nominated for Favorite Female Country Artist along with Swift and Oklahoman McEntire.

Rascal Flatts, featuring Picher native Joe Don Rooney, is nominated for Favorite Country Band, Duo or Group and Favorite Country Album for "Unstoppable."

For the third year, the winners will be determined by online voting at www.ama.abc.com, www.amavote.com and www.mycokerewards.com starting immediately. Artists will be honored in the categories of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin and Contemporary Inspirational.
