Lil' rapper from OKC
OKLAHOMA CITY -- It doesn't matter what kind of music you like, everybody's taken just a little time in front of the mirror pretending to be onstage. Galen Culver has the story of a 10-year-old girl who spent so much time pretending that she's become awfully good at the real thing.
As parents we wonder how kids like Dezarae Traylor do it. How can she juggle long division, Nick TV, and her Nintendo DS all at the same time and still get straight A's at school?
"Its fun," she quips.
But for Dezarae you can add one more task to her long multi-tasking list. A lot of the time Dezarae spends sitting still she's writing rhymes.
"It's something to do and it's fun," she says. "And I like it."
At home she's Dezarae. At school she's a 4th grader, but onstage she's Li'l Dezzy the 405 Princezz.
"I say 405 Princezz a lot so 405 kind of tells them...Oklahoma," she explains.
Dezzy spends a great deal of free time at the Diamond Recording Studio in Oklahoma City working on her music. She's been at this since she was three; learning to ride the beat like a pro.
She explains, "Cause anybody could just stand up there and say some words and stay still."
Dezzy's father agrees. "You've got to know how to ride the beat. You know she's on and off the beat. That's called having her 'swag' and she has swagger."
Li'll Dezzy's been performing so long she doesn't get nervous anymore.
"My Dad's the one who gets nervous," she says pointing at her father.
"I know she's going to do well, but as a Dad I'm still nervous for her," says Forrest Traylor.
Li'l Dezzy cut a CD not long ago. She's still writing and recording between home work assignments. The 'Swagger' is definitely there. Plenty to keep every track she lays down dancing.

Li'l dezzy was one of the opening acts for the Li'l JJ comedy show at the Civic Center.
If you feel like checking out some of her jams Dezzy has a MySpace page with some free downloads.
