DFest Announces Keynote Speaker; Headliner

The keynote speaker and final headlining band for DFest 2009 were announced at a press conference this morning at Tulsa International Airport.

Musician, club owner and motivational speaker Andrew W.K. will be the keynote speaker for DFest 2009.

Andrew is best known for his 2001 major-label debut, I Get Wet, which spawned the songs “Party Hard”, “She Is Beautiful” and “It’s Time to Party”. As a motivational speaker, he has performed at Yale University, New York University, the University of Wisconsin and more. Along with three partners, Andrew opened Santos Party House, a nightclub and concert hall in New York City, in 2008.

The final headliner for DFest 2009 has also been announced - Rooney. More ‘Emerging Artists’ are set to be announced tomorrow. You can view the previously announced bands here and here.

The festival and conference will take place on July 24 & July 25 in downtown Tulsa’s historic Blue Dome District.
