Southwest Regional Folk Alliance to host one-day event in Oklahoma City

The Southwest Regional Folk Alliance will host a one-day event for ’s music community from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 27 at the Ronald J. Norick Metropolitan Library, 300 Park Ave. in downtown .
The event is open to anyone involved or interested in the music business including artists, promoters, booking agents, record label representatives, radio, media, music publishers, film archivists and music educators.
The day will provide artist showcases, panel discussions and networking events.
Hosted by Oklahoma singer/songwriter and , the event is free and lunch is provided.
Artists will showcase and this year’s panel topics include Venues and Booking: What Venues Want Artists to Know and Media/P.R. and the Changing Face of Music Promotion.
The Folk Alliance is part of and holds a regional conference each fall. The region includes Oklahoma, , and . This year's conference will be held Sept. 24-27 in (www.swrfa.com).
Founded in 1989, Folk Alliance International exists to foster and promote traditional, contemporary, and multicultural folk music, dance, and related performing arts in (www.folk.org).
