David Teegarden, one of the legendary figures in the Tulsa music scene, will make his debut at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame

David Teegarden, one of the legendary figures in the Tulsa music scene, will make his debut at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame when he and his quartet perform 5 p.m. Sunday at the Jazz Depot, 111 E. First St.

Joining Teegarden for this concert will be Mike Moore on trumpet, Kenny Quinn on piano and Bucky Young on bass.

Drummer-vocalist Teegarden and organist Skip Knape scored a Top 40 hit with the song "God, Love and Rock & Roll" in 1970. That led to a stint as part of Bob Seger's Silver Bullet Band, with Teegarden performing on many of Seger's best-known songs, including the Grammy Award-winning "Against the Wind."

In recent years, Teegarden, who runs a recording studio south of Tulsa and performs regularly around town, has worked with such artists as J.J. Cale and Eric Clapton, producing Cale's acclaimed "To Tulsa and Back," and working the Cale-Clapton collaboration, "The Road to Escondido."

Tickets for Sunday's concert are $15 for adults; $10 for seniors, Jazz Hall members and college students; and $5 for children 12 years and younger. For more information, call 281-8600.
