NORMAN — Hosty Duo will give back to the community when it performs Sunday as part of the Performing Arts Studio’s Summer Breeze Concert Series.

The concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Lions Park, on the corner of Flood Avenue and Symmes Street. Admission is free. Those attending are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic items.

The past two years the Hosty Duo has worked to collect nonperishable food items during its Summer Breeze concert. This year, the band has invited representatives from East Main Place, a transitional living facility for the homeless, to attend the concert in an effort to raise awareness and discuss the services East Main Place provides for the community, Summer Breeze Chairman Steven White said.

"Michael (Hosty) and I always like to do something to give back to the community during his Summer Breeze performances,” White said. "The chance for his fans and those who attend Summer Breeze to be made aware of this valuable service and help others just makes sense to me.”

Hosty and Mike "Tic Tac” Byars make up the duo. The two have been playing music together for the past 10 years, entertaining audiences with melodic tunes and catchy lyrics on topics such as macaroni and cheese, tornadoes and Chewbacca.

"We are very excited to have Michael and Tic Tac back to Summer Breeze,” White said. "So many people hear about the Hosty Duo but don’t get the opportunity to see them.”
