Biography |
After playing guitar and singing in various rock and cover bands for almost seven years, Chad took some time off only to find that he was not at his best when not playing music. He went back to music this time for fun and to get back to his roots, back to the honesty of truly great songwriters and country music that made sense and changed people's lives. Eventually a good friend introduced him to Red Dirt Music. Not being a huge fan of labels and not thinking that all music can be categorized, he was proud to say that in this family, his songwriting fit. When Chad decided to give playing shows a try he was still driving an 18 wheeler across this great nation of ours, so shows were pretty few and far between but he had alot of time to spend with his songwriting. After about six months of playing shows he decided that it was time to change his focus. In January of 2007 Chad decided to play full time and try to keep himself alive solely with his guitar. When Chad began his journey he was playing for tips and free beer in any place that would have him, then as fate would have it Chad found Stillwater, Ok. the "Austin" of Oklahoma if you will. In the last couple of years he has had the pleasure of meeting and playing with some of the greatest names in the scene. Chad Sullins and the band have had the opportunity to share the stage with such great folks as: Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, Johnny Cooper, Scott Evans, Brandon Jenkins, Scott Copeland, The Great Divide, Jason Boland, Mike McClure, Bleu Edmondson, No Justice, Tom Skinner and some great up and coming bands in the scene: Clint Osmus and the Bushmills, From The Ashes, Ordinary Outlaws, and The Turnpike Troubadours. All of these people he is proud to call his friends. In 2009 Chad recruited Josh Rutz(formerly of Paul Daniels Band/Clint Osmus) on lead guitar with Jerry Stanley on bass and Mike Hatley on drums. Chad Sullins and the Last Call Coalition is hitting the road and working on their much anticipated first album "Uphill Battle", which is set to be released in the fall of 2009. From dynamic acoustic to high-energy full band shows Chad Sullins and the Last Call Coalition is a band worth experiencing.
