Sherwood!

Hey Everyone,

Our third album, QU, comes out today, and we wanted to take a moment to let you know how much this album means to us as a band, and as individuals. At the risk of sounding cliché, we can honestly say that we have never been more proud of an album than we are of QU. We pushed ourselves far beyond previous limits, tried a hundred new things, and yet also stayed true to our previous musical direction.

We rented an apartment in a sketchy Oakland, CA neighborhood for 7 months, wrote over 80 songs, and eventually whittled those down to the 12 that made the album. There are no throw-away tracks, no filler. For every song that made the album, there is a song we also loved that didn’t. We pushed ourselves lyrically to write more rich, evocative and meaningful words, and we enlisted producer Brad Wood to make sure that every tone, every sound was interesting, that nothing sounded like a run-of-the-mill paint-by-numbers rock album.
