Fourth in a Series of Cash & Carry Art Shows at Myers Studio & Art Gallery

Tahlequah, Oklahoma, February 2008 - Myers Studio & Fine Art gallery is planning the most recent art show in a series of shows entitled Art to Go. The show entitled “Former Friends, Lovers & other Abstract Relations” is being referred to as the Anti-valentine Show is scheduled to open Friday, February 22^nd, with an art party from 7-9pm and will be open again on Saturday from 10am – 3pm. This art show is the forth in the series that are designed to be casual art events that promote artists of all types, including emerging and student artists.

Art to go shows are two day cash & carry art shows that feature artwork from $20 to $200. They take place on a Friday night and the following Saturday. Friday night of the show involves an “Art Party” that includes, not only great artwork at affordable prices but live entertainment. At the current show Friday February 22^nd & 23^rd, “Former Friends, Lovers & other Abstract Relations” you can enjoy the mellow tunes of Oklahoma City musical guests Kacey Walkingstick & the Holly Leifs as well as love & relationships tarot card readings (for entertainment purposes only). All free and open to the public.

Studio owner Kelie Myers says she the idea for the show series came to her while examining the vast inventory of her own work. “Over the years I have accumulated several “odds & ends”, artworks & things that just don’t seem to fit anywhere in my current body of work. I wanted to create a venue that these works could be displayed and I knew I wasn’t alone in this.” says Myers. She also explains that she has a strong desire to involve the community more in embracing the many talented artists that live in the Tahlequah area. Kelie also adds, “I want the Art to Go shows to be so enticing and sound so fun that even people who normally wouldn’t attend an art show will want to venture out and discover local art.”

The gallery is located in downtown Tahlequah at 117 1/ 2 N. Muskogee St., almost directly across from Edie’s Fashions. Shows runs March 14^th – 20^th, 28^th -30^th additional Gallery Hours during the Show Dates are as follows: Monday – Friday 1pm – 5pm, Saturday 10am – 3pm, Sunday 1pm – 3pm
