your local weather/music report with Aron Holt of Mama Sweet.

Hello friends!

Let me start by saying the weathermen are always wrong! They just like to scare people. I think that is how they keep their jobs. I keep hearing talk of horrible weather (in Oklahoma) this weekend, but it really isn't going to be that bad. Today (Friday), it is going to be cold with some freezing drizzle. Tomorrow (Saturday), it will be in the mid to low 40s and high 30s later in the evening into the night. What does that mean? Cold rain. That's it. No snow. It will be too warm for freezing rain or for the roads to freeze over. I could be wrong, but so could the weathermen. So, why is your favorite front man giving you a weather report? Because, we have a great weekend planned and I want to see all of your bright shining faces there! Here is what we have going on:

Friday, The Deli in Norman, OK (with special guest Dertybird opening): If you were at our last Deli show, you know that it was one of the best performances we have ever given. We try to make every show memorable, but the Deli is our home. And with comfort, comes great shows! This show should be no different. In fact, it may be even better, because we have a great band from Austin, Dertybird, coming to open for us. They are great guys with a great sound and they helped us get our foot in the door in Austin, so I want to return the favor by showing them how incredible a packed house at the Deli truly is! Dertybird will go on at 9:30pm and we will follow at 11pm.

Saturday, The Arbuckle Ballrom in Davis, OK (opening for Wade Bowen): The Arbuckle Ballroom is about the size of the Diamond Ballroom. It has a great big dance floor, places to sit, and a mechanical bull to ride! Davis is only an hour south of Norman and it is right off of I-35. So, once again, travel really shouldn't be an issue. Plus, this show will make the drive worth it! Wade is well known in the Red Dirt scene and for good reason. He has a great voice and has surrounded himself with great musicians. On top of all of that, he is very friendly and gracious. With us opening and Wade following, it promises to be a great musical adventure. The Arbuckle Ballroom has been incredible to us and we want to make them proud. So, I hope you all will make the short jaunt to come see us play along side Wade Bowen.
