Big Fish. (414 South Main, Grapevine, Texas.) Saturday, 30 May, 7 pm & Wednesday,
3 June, 6:30 pm. I don't know, but I been told, a big-legged fish got lots o soul! (My buddy living down here now, Steve White, great guitarist, mentioned he might stop in, as well as the one and only Bob Livingston, in which case, this fish will have big legs on it tonight.)
Americana Unplugged. (LaVelle Inn... only stoplight in town, Davis, OK) Thursday, 4 June, 7 pm. With Bob Livingston. Bob has asked me to play a few tunes, so this is his gig of great original tunes I'm crashing. Cool venue, charitable cause. The following day, we play some songs at the Vet Hospital. You come, too!
The Chouse. (717 West Boyd, Norman, OK) Friday, 5 June, 8 pm. With Bob Livingston and Terry 'Buffalo' Ware. There are not enough good things to say about Mary Katherine and the Chouse. A church turned house, I love love love playing here, (and so does the Princess Jackie PI.) And what an honor to play with Bob and Terry, both musical giants!
Lavender Festival. (24474 E. 191st St S., Haskell, OK.) Saturday, 6 June, 10 am. This is the 7th Annual Lavender Festival, I think. And lucky me, I've played 'em all and they just keep getting better and better! There's wine now, too. PB & J's with lavender jelly. Fields of heavenly lavender. And so so much more. You are missing out if you haven't been here yet.
Blues and Jazz Festival. (at the Grape Ranch, Okemah, OK.) Saturday, 6 June, 4 pm. With the Brown White Steed Band..., i.e., Frank Brown, David White, & Michael Steed. Back to my home away from home with all the boys. This is the 3rd annual Okemah Chamber of Commerce Jazz and Blues Fest, I do believe. And not to be missed. Starting with the great Selby Minner at 2 pm and then us, then two more bands, going until 10 pm. For more info, go to: www.graperanch.com
Grape Ranch Winery. (6 miles south of I-40 and Okemah, OK.) Sunday, 7 June, 2 pm.
This, the weekend singer-songwriter series. The Grape Ranch and the Whitemans do so much for Oklahoma Music, Culture and Wine! Come out and get your Frozen Rose ;-)
Benefit for Don Morris. (Blue Dome Diner, 313 E. 2nd St, Tulsa, OK.) Sunday, 7 June, 7 pm. Don had surgery for a broken foot caused by a car crash recently. Not sure who all's on the line-up. But, pretty sure all the usual suspects, (the Red Dirt Rangers, the Science Project, and more, as he's played with everybody and we've all played with him and love him dearly!) Starts early and goes late.
Lola's at the Bowery. (Main & Brady, downtown Tulsa, OK.) Thursday, 11 & 25 June, 6:30 pm. With the band. I met her in a club down in old Soho where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola c-o-l-a cola. She walked up to me and she asked me to dance I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said lola l-o-l-a Lola... (i just can't help myself...)
TK's 2. (Riverwalk Crossing, Jenks, OK.) Friday, 12 June, 6 pm. Let's try it again!
Ah, the exotic and peaceful TK's2. Great friends, great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, great goodness.
Ale Haus European Pub. (Riverwalk Crossing, Jenks, OK.) Saturday, 13 & 20 June, 6:30 pm. And here, too: It's gloriously European, only it's right on the Arkansas River and in Jenks. So there's not the hassle of people speaking in foreign tongues or driving on the wrong side of the street...
OK Mozart Festival. (Bartlesville Community Center, 300 SE Adams Blvd, Bartlesville, OK.) Thursday, 18 June, 3:30 pm. With Louis Lynch. Really one of Oklahoma's best best festivals. It celebrates music of all kinds and marries so many different genres all into one big week-- june 12-20! I'm honored to play it again this year, and Lou will be on cello this time. Check it out at: www.okmozart.com
Country Fever Fest! (114 South Mill St., Pryor, OK.) Friday, 19 June, 2:30 pm. Yee-Haw! All the greats in the Oklahoma and Texas Red Dirt Music Scene-- you won't believe this line-up. It's four days of festival fun and mayhem ;-) Check it all out at: www.country.feverfest.com
RSU Radio. (91.3 FM, Claremore, OK.) Monday, 22 June, 8 pm. Local Flavors with Davit Souders. My buddy, my pal, Davit, singer-songwriter-music promoter of all things music and all things Oklahoma music puts on so many great shows. You can check out just a smidgen of what he does at: www.myspace.com/localflavors
41st & Riverside Summer Concert Series. (41st & Riverside (:-) Tulsa, OK.) Friday, 26 June, 5:30 pm. A new concert series on the Arkansas River where they've built a great new complex. All ages! All fun! Alright! My buddy, my pal, Davit, singer-songwriter-music promoter of all things music and all things Oklahoma music puts on so many great music shows. You can check out just a smidgen of what he does at:
French Hen. (71st & Yale, Tulsa, OK.) Saturday, 27 June, 7 pm. Ooh la la. Les chansons francaises, et la cuisine francaise,... et je perds mon francais donc, c'est tous!
And in other news... go to www.intv.me at Currentland for internet news and music info. Jeremy Scott and Tom Barlow's love child, not sure exactly... but check it out! Somewhere on there is an interview I did with JS. And oh so much more.
